Review of Austenland (2013) by Kyle B — 31 May 2014
Yes this movie isn't deep or epic like lord of the rings, but it is strangley touching. Having read the book I was expecting the inevitable let down that occurs with most movies, but was pleasantly surprised that it was even more enjoyable than its paperback version.
The humor was slightly corny, but not in the raunchy way most rom-coms rely on now to get their $, which was refreshing. What really made this movie touching were the moments when the cast chemistry shone through, allowing the audience to believe that they really did mean what they were saying.
