Review of Assassin's Creed (2016) by Ethan L — 10 Jan 2017
Although it was, in a sense, made for a niche audience, this film is a perfect stand alone story. Callum might not be a very relatable or purposeful character at first but by the final act of the film you feel the determination he carries.
The rest of the supporting cast, even though having small, almost undeveloped characters, can make you fond of them and their outcomes.
The whole sense of mystery and need for resolution makes you anxious and keeps you interested. In general is a movie that pays a more than good tribute to the lore and history of the Assassin's Creed franchise without relying on the games to give it depth.
Overall is a fantastic movie. Capable of being enjoyed by all audiences but probably much more of a great ride for those of us who know and love the past AC stories.
