Review of Apocalypto (2006) by Keith B — 09 Jun 2012
Having been to Guatemala and studied a bit of the Mayan culture (temples, priests, etc) myself already, this movie was already appealing to me. The thought that the Spainish explorers had been responsible for the demise of the Mayan culture as it was known, is certainly one probable explanation.
Not as graphic as one was led to believe prior watching the movie; however, the implied graphics is well demonstrated. If one enjoys studying history and the disappearance of societal cultures, this is certainly a must see.
