Review of Another Year (2010) by Jack K — 19 Jan 2011
Mike Leigh's Another Year is a beautiful and moving film that addresses loneliness and the fear of aging in a truly profound way. By the end of the movie, I felt like I knew every character personally, so effective are the performances from Leigh's incredible cast, including Jim Broadbent, Ruth Sheen, David Bradley, Peter Wight, Oliver Maltman and, in one of the year's most astonishing performances, Lesley Manville.
