Review of An American Crime (2007) by Kyle H — 09 Nov 2008
This movie is not for everyone, But I appreciate the opportunity to get an insiders view into what is considered one of the worst crimes in the state of Indiana. Ellen Page does a incredible job at recreating what might have been in terms of the emotional levels that the real victim might have experienced.
I have done my own research on this story, And can tell you that the writer/director have definitely left out the worst of this crime. This is a story that leaves you breathless for days, the film hits you right in the chest.
But I can say if you decide to watch, see the film first because after you research this story you will be able to contrast the difference between this films interpretation and the real story and it will probably leave you a little aggrevated.
