Review of Alice Adams (1935) by John B — 18 Jun 2007
Katherine Hepburn is simply marvelous and stunningly excellent in this 1935 film. The film is based on the Booth Tarkington novel about a lovely young lower class girl who tries desperately to fit into the higher class society.
Hepburn is at her best and lights up the screen with her youthful glow, charm, and talent. Hepburn recieved her second Oscar nomination for playing the titled role. She should have won in my opinion. George Stevens' direction is great, capturing the essence of every scene and Hepburn's performance.
This is a movie everyone should see! It is delightfully wonderful!
