Review of 44 Inch Chest (2009) by Ian H — 13 May 2010
Every actor in this movie is an amazing actor you know from somewhere else and you bring them all together and, well, you get this small little movie that's somewhere between Glengarry Glen Ross and Reservoir Dogs and comes off like the kind of movie Guy Ritchie couldn't make after he married Madonna and has been trying to get back to ever since their divorce.
No, this isn't a goddamned Guy Ritchie movie, but it IS written by the guys who wrote that surprisingly good Ben Kingsley vehicle Sexy Beast from a handful of years back. Anyway, this could be a play, a good one, the dialogue is great, even if most of it is just a bunch of old British dudes with thick accents yelling "fucking cunt" at each other.
