Review of Justice League: The New Frontier (2008)

By Saharat S (52) on 13 Apr 2008

Surprisingly good; places Superheroes in McCarthy era; lot of development of minor characters--Superman, Batman, and WW aren't the major players;…

Review of Conversations with Other Women (2006)

By Saharat S (52) on 07 Apr 2008

Kind of interesting--mostly two people talking throughout the movie; filmed in split screen; seems gimmicky at first, but you get to see both…

Review of The U.S. vs. John Lennon (2006)

By Saharat S (52) on 31 Mar 2008

Lennon worked the media as well as any politician; he and Yoko probably did some goofy things (Bed-In) that limited their power and influence;…

Review of Water Lilies (2007)

By Saharat S (52) on 25 Mar 2008

Pretty much what 'Skins' aspires to be but can never achieve. A poetic warts 'n all snapshot of teenage love, desire and, um, passion…

Review of Container (2006)

By Saharat S (52) on 27 Feb 2008

Too pretentious---Jenna Malone's voice over was pretty cool---she played a lot of roles, an anorexic, a celebrity, a boy in a woman's body,…

Review of The Candidate (1972)

By Saharat S (52) on 11 Nov 2007

Shows how a political candidate is handled and shaped by those around them and how the candidate's message is irrelevant; pollsters and TV…

Review of Real Women Have Curves (2002)

By Saharat S (52) on 25 Sep 2007

Ferrera is delightful, but Ontiveros as her mother has very little dimension…

Review of The Cave (2005)

By Saharat S (52) on 23 Sep 2007

Underwater cave horror movies are an untapped genre--a little too much testosterone and goofy monsters in this one--Piper has the most dramatic…

Review of Tokyo Godfathers (2003)

By Saharat S (52) on 19 Sep 2007

Absolutely perfect movie. 3 Homeless 3 different story and a baby. Everyone hides their real personalty. Now time to discover…

Review of Ellie Parker (2005)

By Saharat S (52) on 09 Sep 2007

I had high expectations and was disappointed. Hooray for a cameo from Chevy Chase though…

Review of Sherrybaby (2006)

By Saharat S (52) on 28 Aug 2007

Maggie's pretty amazing in this one; she's lost, flawed, and damaged--but she's trying to change.... its about the attempt and her journey…

Review of Dr. M (1990)

By Saharat S (52) on 23 Aug 2007

I guess this is a meditation on suicide and whether life is worth living - the gimmick is that people are brainwashed into committing suicide…
