Review of Oranges and Sunshine (2010)

By Martin Roberts (187) for Fan The Fire (489) on 23 Mar 2011

It has a few dips here and there, and the first act is unfortunately the weakest, but overall this is a story worth-telling, well-told…

Review of Sanctum (2011)

By Martin Roberts (187) for Fan The Fire (489) on 18 Feb 2011

Review of Animal Kingdom (2010)

Review of Hereafter (2010)

By Martin Roberts (187) for Fan The Fire (489) on 31 Jan 2011

All of the strands are weak in their own ways, but the film at least would have had redemptive moments if it wasn't structured so badly…

Review of Biutiful (2010)

By Martin Roberts (187) for Fan The Fire (489) on 31 Jan 2011

It's bleak, certainly, but not despairing, although it is indicative of the film's tone that one final, redemptive act is rendered ambiguously…

Review of The Next Three Days (2010)

By Martin Roberts (187) for Fan The Fire (489) on 07 Dec 2010

The restaurant-set introduction is a little clunky, and it may be a little overlong (with too many supporting characters), but overall Haggis…

Review of We Are What We Are (2010)

Review of Life As We Know It (2010)

By Martin Roberts (187) for Fan The Fire (489) on 12 Oct 2010
