Mohamed Saïd Fellag is a native of the commune of Azeffoun (Port Gueydon at the time), in Algeria. He studied theatre at the national Institute of dramatic art and choreography of Algiers to Bordj el Kiffan, from 1968 to 1972. It occurs in many theatres of Algeria during the 1970s.
From 1978 to 1981, he travelled in France and Canada, living out of small jobs and constantly pushing back the realization of its artistic projects.
In September 1985, he returned to Algeria, is hired by the national Theatre of algeria, where he worked as an actor and stage director.
In 1987 he created his first show, The Adventures of Chop.
In September 1993, he was appointed director of the theatre of Bejaia (Bougie).
After the revolt of October 1988, then, in the early 1990s, with the rising tensions between the islamists and power, violence and murders multiply. In 1994, Fellag tour with A boat to Australia, Algeria, and Tunisia. At the end of the year he moved to Tunis where he creates Delirium. He receives a warm welcome from the tunisian public.
In 1995, under the threat of death, Fellag will decide to go into exile to Paris.
Often associated with Mohamed Fellag with her spectacle Djurdjurassique Bled, his first show in French, created in December 1997, which earned him the prize of the Union of the critical 1997-1998, revelation theatre of the year. In this show, he recounts various stages in the history of his native country, his fears, his follies, and the humanity of his people.
Mohamed Fellag is married by the age of 40 years. Today he lives with the actress Marianne Épin.
