Michel Houellebecq (pronounced [wɛlˈbɛk]), his real name is Michel Thomas, born February 26, 1956, or 19581 at The Meeting (France), is a writer, poet, essayist and novelist French. It is, since the late 1990s, one of the contemporary writers in the French language the most translated in the world. In parallel to his literary activities, he is also a singer, director etacteur, as can be seen in particular in 2014 in two films :The Kidnapping of Michel Houellebecq, and Near Death Experiences. It is revealed by the novels Extension of the domain of the struggle and, especially, The elementary Particles, who made known to a wide public.
