Mehdi Nebbou is a French actor, born in Bayonne (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) on January 10, 1974. He speaks fluent French, German, English and Italian. Born to a mother of German descent and a father of algerian, Mehdi Nebbou moved to Berlin at the age of 18 years. A few years later, he left the German capital to join Milan, where he learned the trade of a carpenter. In 1994, he returned to Berlin and joined the Film Academy (Deutsche Film - und Fernsehakademie Berlin), where he studied film directing for five years. While it helps another student to the casting of his film, the latter proposed to him to pass tests and eventually give him a leading role. It is thus that he made his first steps as a movie actor. The movie My Sweet Home of Filipos Tsitos, which earned him his first role, was the only German film presented in competition at the Berlin film Festival in 2001. In 2007 and 2008, he went on to roles in France in The blood of Jacques Maillot, alongside Guillaume Canet and François Cluzet, the comedy Ca$h produced by Eric Besnard, with Jean Reno, Jean Dujardin and Valeria Golino and Secret Defense de Philippe Haïm with Gérard Lanvin, Simon Abkarian and Rachida Brakni. That same year, he co-starred with Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crowe in the film of Ridley Scott, Lies in State (Body of Lies).
