He began his early artistic career in the world of circus and cabaret in there being both a clown, an acrobat and a tamer of wild beasts. It also does a career in leculturisme which allows him to develop an impressive appearance which will advantage in the rest of his career. Accustomed to supporting roles, he took often the role of the ugly candide, the gross naivety of the force of nature in heart. Robert Dhéry is committed to in his famous troupe of Branquignols and, in 1954, Robert Hossein is committed to turn auThéâtre of the Grand Guignol. On television, we will see in the Last Five Minutes of Claude Loursais, in Vidocq of the director Marcel Bluwal, in the Head of The other, Raymond Roller, or The Holy ones of John Becker, and in The secret Files of inspector Lavardin by Claude Chabrol. It is above all the cinema that it will become a popular figure thanks to his many appearances in supporting roles, notably to the sides of Louis de Funès. It retains its appearance in Oscar, Edward Molinaro, where he engages in a demonstration of pectorals and the triceps tasty. He plays Philippe, the masseur a little dumb and naive, a role that he held first at the theatre in the eponymous piece from the mise en scene de Jacques Mauclair in 1958, and then again in 1971. He will work with Robert Hossein in the theatrical mise en scène of the great moments of the French Revolution. He was married to Francoise Cornu, with whom he had a daughter named Elisa. Mario David died of a pulmonary embolism at the Hospital of the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital in Paris. He is buried in the cemetery of Louyat Limoges (6th section).
