Jean Pommier was twenty years old in 1942 when he began his career in the troupe of comedy and street food of Jean Daste. He travelled in France, with the pioneer of the decentralization, son-in-law of Jacques Copeau, a Member for many years, the troop of the Workshop and of the Renaud-Barrault Company, he later joined the Théâtre de la Huchette, in which he played a long time the role of mr. Martin in The bald Soprano by Eugène Ionesco. It plays the most important authors both classic and contemporary. He holds many roles in movies, sliding little by little jobs of young people first (he was the groom deDany Robin in Two in purple) to those of the notables. He plays with the great stage directors : Copeau, Dullin, Jean-Louis Barrault, Barsacq, Jean-Marie Serrault, Georges Wilson. Jean Pommier tells of his memories of the actor (theatre, cinema), but also as a stage director and production designer since its inception in the years 40, up to now, in Talking about theatre. Dining, Aline, Catherine and me, published with editions Petra in 2012.Witness of the history of the French theatre, he mentions the seventy years of adventures in film and theatre, sharing his work with the greats, but also with forgotten figures. His testimony provides an overview of the French theatre : evocation of the birth of the profession of stage director, of the first festivals of Avignon, working with Jean-Louis Barrault, Jean Vilar : evocation of the tours, of decentralization, of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. He continues today to make creations in theatre, film, television, and exposes, sometimes collages, his hobby is always. He regularly takes part in readings and put on display by Jean-Claude Penchenat, in the framework of the "literary teas" in the Forum 104, 104 rue de Vaugirard. He played recently in two films by Philippe Garrel : The jealousy in 2013 and the shadow of the women in 2014 (currently in editing.) He plays in 2014, "The will of the father Leleu", a farce by Roger Martin du Gard, directed by Jean-Claude Scionico and presented at the Theatre of the wooden Sword to the cartridge factory of Vincennes.
