Gérard Hernandez, born on January 20, 1933 in Valladolid (Spain) is a Spanish actor naturalized French in 1975. He is famous for his moustache and for his voice that he has given a number of cartoon characters, including Gonzo in The Muppet Show, Professor Moriarty in most of the episodes of the animated series Sherlock Holmes in Hayao Miyazaki, as well as the General Smurf and the Smurf Grouchy in ledessin and animated The Smurfs, the film or, more recently, Iznogoud.
Gérard Hernandez began his career as a librarian. He appears on the big screen for the first time in The Better Part of Yves Allegret in the role of a Spanish workers who do not master the French language. It is specialized in the supporting roles.
