Erik Clausen (born 7. march 1942) is a Danish actor, director and screenwriter and a significant commentator of the left.
Clausen is a trained painter and is now a painter and film director. In the 1960s he was dissatisfied with the established art galleries and began exhibiting at the street together with Leif Sylvester Petersen. It led to the gadecirkus and showbiz in the whole. Clausen & Petersen, makkerparet call themselves, were in the last half of the 1970s a part of the Red Mother's Rock Circus. Clausen was formerly active in the Danish Communist Party, but later left the party with regard to the topstyringen: "Here
they had a relation to the criticism which the nun had to the sailor. In
rather than to learn from the best in the eurokommunismen operated
you SUPPORTED so strongly with a false loyalitetsbegreb, that the party totally
lost its credibility. Even I signed myself out, and others preferred to
to be thrown out."[1] Life as a showman and artist was immortalized in the autobiographical film the Circus Casablanca.
With the did Erik Clausen status and now spent more time working
as a painter. It was also a part of recordings, both solo and with Leif Sylvester Petersen. In the beginning of the 1990s were shown a variety of tv broadcasts, where Clausen was put together with the diametrically opposite, wayward nordjyske singer / entertainer Niels the Cast. The broadcasts hit something in time and was a big success. Today they have a cult following. Clausen has worked together with the singer Kim Larsen, among others in the film in the Middle of the night. The film was the film director Erik Balling
last, before he pulled back. Erik Clausen has also been on the scene
in Kim Larsen's Circus sky-blue as well as a myriad of other concerts,
when Erik Clausen's talent for speaking a lot, quickly and accurately is
come to expression. Erik Clausen has used Kim Larsen several times to write the music for his movies. Class struggle is the red thread in many of the Erik Clausen's films: The little little man against capitalism and even in sex. In the vast majority of the film has Erik Clausen written a role for himself. He practices with the joy of both. For a number of years he was a promising cyclist together with the minister for Skibby, but dropped cycling on eliteplan. Erik Clausen keeps like to talk with attitude. Clausen has been the president of the LO's Cultural Vismandsråd, president of the Danish association of visual artists Alliance, received the Terry award, HP's municipal Association Biblioteksudvalgs prize in 1992, the Paul Hammerich Award in 1999, Døssingprisen 2000 and the Gelsted-Kirk-Scherfig-Price in 2001.
Erik Clausen has acted in films with Sidse Babett Knudsen, Sonja Richter, Nicolaj Kopernikus and Lærke Winther.
