After completing his diploma of end of studies in musical practice at the Conservatoire de Belfort, he joined the École nationale supérieure des arts appliqués et des métiers d'art in 1987, before continuing his studies in the classes byjean-Pierre Garnier, Maurice Attias and Josephine Derenne at the cours Florent from 1989 to 1992. He later attended the classes of Catherine Hiegel and Madeleine Marion at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique from 1992 to 1994.
