Zollner was born in Bavaria, grew up in Munich and took a diploma at the Maximilian gymnasium. According to the civil service, he took up his studies at the Hochschule für schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Berlin, which he completed in 1995. 1996 Anian was occupied Zollner then in a main role by Director Margarethe von Trotta in the movie The Promise.
