Review of Sisters (2016) by Dan H — 01 Mar 2016
When sisters Maura (Amy Poehler) and Kate (Tina Fey), two women in different stages of arrested development, find out their parents are selling their childhood home, they decide to throw a party at the house in an attempt to cope with their grief.
Naturally, things do not go as planned. The film plays like a mixture between the sad, adult version of Project X and an SNL alum reunion (Bobby Moynihan, who gets some consistently funny scenes, Chris Parnell, Maya Rudolph, Rachel Dratch, Kate McKinnon, and John Lutz all show up.
Plus it's written by Paula Pell, another SNL alum). Fey is possibly the hottest she has ever been, and her and Poehler work fantastic as a pair, both are a riot. This film is filled with butt-loads of great comedic talent (including JOHN CENA!!!!).
Sisters is very funny, sad, cool, and fun. It marks yet another great comedy from 2015.
