Review of Silence (2017) by Jacob S — 15 Jan 2017
Silence is emotionally draining and isn't always easy to watch but it shows faith, religion, spirituality, imperialism, philosophy, the difference between humility and fanaticism in a very adult and unbiased way.
All phenomenal performances by Garfield, Driver and Neeson, breathtaking cinematography, and a remarkably restrained use of music to allow the audience to breath in the visuals and recoil even more at the brutality and bleakness of it all.
One of the best films of 2016 and needs oscars.
