Review of Silence (2017) by Vera H — 22 Jan 2017
"A song of faith and devotion." It's not an easy movie to watch, and there's a lot to digest, but it's every bit worth it. Andrew Garfield's performance is Oscar worthy, and Adam Driver and Liam Neeson shine in lesser roles as well as the Asian actors particularly the Inquisitor.
Scorsese remains at the top of his game. One can feel his devotion to this work in every frame. It may not be a blockbuster finally, but it deserves more traction.
