Review of Silence (2017) by Joey W — 19 Feb 2017
Martin Scorsese "Silence" review.
To me this is very hard to see a film like this, and for that I might have seen the most beautiful film I has ever ever seen in my life and this is coming from the heart. Martin Scorsese newest film silence is about two christian missionaries to face the ultimate test of faith to there mission to Japan in search of their missing mentor at a time when Christianity was outlawed and their presence forbidden in Japan.. Martin Scorsese has outdone himself again, this film is nothing to do with good verses evil, but mainly side verses side. Showing the ways of Christianity and Buddhism and the survival of faith itself.. what I like about this film or shall I say what I love about this film that it doesn't show any ambiguous sides in the matter. But truly showing of what we are facing today. This film does not discourage in any faith whatsoever, but truly is discouraging of what man kind is to one another. In this film shows you the test of what do you really relay in faith. To me as I said it that this film is one the most beautiful's films I have ever seen in my life. Why? Because it shows the true nature of man. I have to give props that the cinematography has to be one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen put the film in such a long time. To me, I believe this was a great wait for almost 30 years for Martin Scorsese to make, and boy what a triumph for Scorsese. Waiting for a year to see Silence is worth the wait for me, it was anticipation to see a great film director do his magic once again. Martin Scorsese is still the American classic. I encourage all my friends to see this new masterpiece by Martin Scorsese and witness what I saw today. And just seeing a lot of elements of akira kurosawa brings me warmth to see the student becomes the master.. yes, this is my favorite film of 2016 and I will stand by that!!
Grade.
A Perfect 10.
