Review of Silence (2017) by Bill R — 24 Feb 2017
I get what Scorsese was bringing to the viewing community, the showing of two religions colliding in a day an age where they were not budging. Hrll, it's like that today still but it basically came off to me as 2 immovable objects that keep their stance (or stubborn) and in order for them to get along they deal with it their own way.
Basically 2 giant mountains facing eachother and for it to feel safe, the valley is covered and filled with sand to substitute eachother denial that they still don't do what they were originally doing.
I dont know, could just be me. I also found that the movies run time was exceptionally long and found myself looking at the time about the halfway mark. Scorsese has brought us great movies but this has to go in his lesser of films for me.
