Review of Silence (2017) by Jake B — 06 Jun 2017

This is a very long, gloomy, dour film. It is well-made, with amazing scenery and decent acting. I wasn't thrilled with Adam Driver's accent...the story was interesting and unique, inspiring me to do further research into the subject matter after watching the film.

I overall liked it, I just wish Scorsese and the screenwriters injected at least a glimmer of joy or laughter into at least ONE scene; but no, they left the 2 hour 45 minute film as one long, sad epic.
