Review of Redemption (2013) by Yap L — 16 May 2013
The best Jason Statham movie so far. But if you love his martial art film, you are going to be slightly disappointed. There are not so many fighting scene in here, more deep drama.
As Jason Statham took on a film that requires heavy acting skill, it is also a first debut on film by director Steven Knight. Steven Knight is a talented screenwriter. Too many first times. So, although the whole idea of this film is a great combination, I wouldn't expect much.
Despite the first-times, Steven Knight is a great screenwriter. It is a great story with dept and exploring the horror of human emotion and it's harm to the sensitive world. Too bad, Jason & Steven are still raw in their acting and directing, or it is going into the Oscars.
