Review of Redemption (2013) by Mohammed A — 28 Oct 2016
I think the main stream audience expected a typical Statham film. But they are mistaken. He actually produces some serious acting. Only challenge is what the mainstream audience expects from a man who has produced solid action films and cannot accept him actually to act!! Which I think he has in this film.
A good acting job is not how the character expresses his or her emotions (which Statham does well) but how the dynamic is between the two main characters and how two actors create an ambiance of story telling.
My 2 cent opinion. Keep doing this Statham. One day people will actually see how good an actor you are. Just the way you look makes you a bad-ass. That will always be your thing. But kudos to Agata. She performed with such elegance how can you not enjoy those two actors together.
Final conclusion. Find your protagonist like Agata Statham and the making of more acting accepted by the serious audience will with time take place.
