Review of Noise (2007) by John G — 13 Feb 2008
This is basically a play-format movie. To be honest I'm a bit sick of Aussie movies having to be "gritty", but this was very good (at least it wasn't about fucking junkies). Brendan Cowell is very good as the unlikely cop and the rest of the cast is just right for their parts (including his boss who plays an excellent cameo).
Parts of the story line are a little unbelievable and that slightly detracts from the story (why for example is he left alone in the caravan after the murderer turning up the previous night? (these sorts of things piss me off).
The theme of noise is a good one but a little underdeveloped. I did, however, like the fact that it didn't finish with all the pieces tied up like so many mainstream movies these days. Overall worth a look.
