Come on now, just b/c twas' mainly a French-canadian production shouldn't make us slam it sooo bad. I thought the "faux" philosophical dialogue was not so faux at all, just gotta realize Ewan McGregor is the real protagonist.
Not a cup of tea for so many modern viewers but I thought it was almost a chef d'oeuvre, me with all my problems in the domain of love. I guess a puritan upper class happily married type would hate this but show it to another set of souls and you've got a masterpiece.
