Review of Yellow Submarine (1968) by Daniel C — 11 Jun 2012
"The most innovative animated movie (barring Snow White and Fantasia) but what is amazing it is now over 40 years old and is STILL the most innovative animated movie ever made. Some jarring psychedelic (the northern song)and meaningful (nowhere man) songs blend in well with some silly little tunes (yellow submarine, when I'm 64) strung together with very witty dialogue, and uncanny characterizations of the fab four.
Believe me, if you are a fan of animation, (great use of color and roto-scoping) or a fan of the late 60's scene (warhol, peace, love) you have to see this movie. It might make you appreciate how great these songs in fact were. .
