Review of Xenia (2014) by Jacob D — 21 Oct 2014
I saw at the International Film Festival in Chicago. Strangers in their own birthplace, this movie truly enlightens a person as to what a foreign immigrant goes through in Greece. The Albanians and the others as immigrants, even though they were born there are still regarded suspiciously.
It was a touching story that weaved immigrant issues, issues of sexuality and love, and paternity issues and family. Eventually to come to terms with what is really important. A movie that is moving in many ways, especially to one that realizes that the world is diverse and within it are complexities that only one person can tell it's story that way it is for them.
