Review of WR: Mysteries of the Organism (1971) by Wesley R — 14 Mar 2011
Honestly, there's a good chance you're going to feel this film is dated and/or not care about a lot that is expressed in this film. I enjoyed the first part of the film as a documentary look at the impact of Wilhelm Reich, but found myself kind of bored by the latter half of the film.
This is where the film changes from a documentary approach to a series of random interviews or vignettes intermixed with a storyline involving communism and its effect on sexuality that you'll get the point of within the first 5 to 10 mins.
of its storyline and wonder how many times they'll keep mentioning it. Despite all this, though, you can't help but admire the collage-like structure the entire film has.
