Review of Woody Allen: A Documentary (2011) by Joe X — 10 Sep 2012
A great profile on one of the most prolific filmmaker of all time. As one of cinema's least outspoken movie-makers, it's fascinating to finally hear him talk about the process of filmmaking and how simple he finds the entire process to be.
Allen's body of work is so large that even the nearly three and a half hour running time still felt like it was just scraping the surface; but with every film he's made being written, directed and edited together in just a year with very few takes of each scene and no rehearsal time, there probably isn't really that much meat to delve into with each individual production.
