Review of Willie Dynamite (1974) by Louis D — 23 Jan 2008
Willie Dynamite is a pimp who firmly believes in free market capitalism; so naturally Willie denies the requests of fellow pimps to unionize. His socio-economic dogma leads him through a dark narrative of conspiracies, and the absence of necessary companionship during his downfall (orchestrated by a social worker intent on devastating Willie's illegal business dealings).
A surprisingly smart film about prostitution and the collapse of the individual that is willing to substitute fights for thought provoking conversation.
