Review of When We First Met (2018) by Charles S — 19 Feb 2018
Time travel movies are difficult to do well, and this one is done very well. To fully appreciate this film, it is necessary to watch it multiple times. Some of the dialog which doesn't seem important during the first viewing takes on added importance during the second viewing since the dialog is connected to things that happen later in the film.
Also, the subtlety of Shelley Hennig's facial expressions and body language is amazing. This became clear the third time I watched the film. Her performance was brilliant, and judging by the critical reviews, definitely underappreciated.
For all of the critics who gave this movie a low score, please watch it at least three times before deciding. Watching this movie multiple times is the only way to fairly evaluate it.
