Review of What's the Matter with Helen? (1971) by Sausages M — 12 Aug 2010
Umm this is just plain weird. Entertaining turns from Reynolds and Winters in the 'autumn' of their careers (39 and 51 respectively, at the time) and you are largely kept guessing until the end, although the twist isn't exactly shocking.
Stylistically, this is on a par with higher budget Hammer I'd say, and is the same sort of thematic structure and narrative you get in those types of films. Drags a bit in some parts; the best description is part Hammer, part Ham.
