Review of Wall Street (1987) by Josh K — 26 Sep 2010
Michael Douglas owns Wall Street, with great direction added by Oliver Stone. Douglas portrays Gordon Gekko, an antagonistic corporate raider who uses illegal means. Charlie Sheen portrays Bud Foxx, who wants to work for Gekko and begins to do illegal activities with him.
The film focuses heavily on the stock business, while Douglas and Sheen give great performances, with great supporting performances lended by Daryl Hannah and Martin Sheen. Douglas won the Academy Award for his performance, which is even still memorable today.
A landmark film, with great direction from Stone and an important message on the evil of greed and power and what the outcome can be.
