Review of Videodrome (1983) by Jesse P — 24 Nov 2011
Rating: A+, It was truely ahead of it's time. It predicted one major point which still stands strong, that the media controls our life. Let's face it, with the internet and T.V. the media does have an influence over our life.
It's ever so present and tries to take control over every aspect of our lives. This is a great theme in the movie. The idea of Videodrome is to destroy all the low lifes in the world who watch T.V.
that is considered unhealthy or crude. This way the U.S. won't be considered weak. It's a sick way how some people can use the media to their advantage. But let's face it, that's the overall goal of the media, to put thoughts in our brain.
Buy this, go here and so forth. That's what the film's major achievment is. The plot may be to muddled for most to understand, but if you give it enough atention you may get it. In the end, LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH!!!
