Review of Van Diemen's Land (2009) by Nerissa W — 03 Oct 2011
Though the film doesn't have an exciting, solid premise or an objective, director Jonathan Auf Der Heide manages to wow us with fantastic shots of the Australian wilderness, it was the one thing I appreciated the most from its entirety.
This film almost plays your head psychologically with the silent scenes, unsettling colour tones and the respect the convicts have with each other while building up to the extreme lengths each one will do in order to survive.
