Review of Valley of Bones (2017) by Emily D — 31 Aug 2017
The storyline is intriguing enough, and the opening scene and score hook you nicely at first, but it all slowly unravels after that. The acting was a bit unnatural, at times, and some of their actions, especially the mother's, are hard to buy into or identify with.
The scene with the oil (you'll know it when you see it), was artistically arranged on the screen, and I appreciate the apparent visual metaphor, but overall, the scene just came across as odd. This movie had potential, and was decent enough to watch all the way through once invested, but wait for it to stream.
Or just skip it all together.
