Review of Tyrannosaur (2011) by Alec B — 23 Dec 2011
Don't be fooled by the seemingly uplifting trailer: this film is one bad ass motherfucker with an intense and devastating lead role unmatched since Ben Kingsley's dark turn in Sexy Beast. As in My Name Is Joe, Peter Mullan is practically unstoppable as a deranged alcoholic misanthrope. I'm still not sure what I think of the film as a whole, but Paddy Considine's cruel tale has definitely left a deep impression with scenes that will stick in my memory for a long time.
Highly recommend for fans of Naked and other similar British miserabalism!
