Review of Trouble the Water (2008) by Gordon B — 11 Nov 2008
Eye opening, motivational, and uplifting.
This movie takes into the lives of a family that survived katrina and succeeded in building back up their lives. how did they survive? the took mattes into their own hands. the money from fema didn't help much, and so the prospect of starting a new life away from NO didn't work out. Obviously, I admire this family and what they went through and how they survived.
The movie also shows, unbiasedly, how the US didn't do much to help. It's as if the national guard stood by and watched a community die instead of helping rebuild it and sustaining the community. the guard was just there to keep people in check.
