Ultimately underwhelming, this film wasn't as 'extreme' as one might be led to believe. Very interesting concept and a pretty cool use of flashbacks to reveal little plot details, but something feels a bit lacking in the execution and pay off.
The ponderous pace doesn't quite work as well as Denis probably wanted it to.
