Review of Tooth and Nail (2007) by Ed Fucking H — 16 Jul 2011
A group of survivors in a post apocalyptic, oiless future world, hideout in an abandoned hospital, whilst they are stalked and killed off, one-by-one, by a gang of cannibals. If this brief synopsis didn't give it away, this movie is going for a Dawn of the Dead meets Mad Max type of affair.
While this is nowhere near as exceptional as those two films, this is still a pretty good exercise in genre filmmaking that has a good sense of atmosphere, decent analog gore effects, a good amount of action and small performances from Michael Madsen and Vinnie Jones.
It is hampered by a fairly lazy story, some questionable dialouge and some bad acting, but these flaws shouldn't really prevent you from enjoying this. Yes, it leaves a lot to be desired, but it is also a reliable good time.
Recommended for fans of Post-Apocalyptic / Horror / Thriller's.
