Review of Time Lapse (2014) by Qi Z — 05 Apr 2017
This movie is based on the pretense of being able to see future through a scientific contraption. Time travel is the favorite topic for science fiction writers. However this movie added a moral component to the question of knowledge. Cash human use foreknowledge wisely? And what is the consequence of using that knowledge? To both questions, the answer is unequivocally no.
The possession of foreknowledge is too seductive for humans. We cannot resist the temptation to use it for expedient reasons. While we are using that foreknowledge, we will inevitably become enslaved to it. By doing so, we are subjugating our free will to that knowledge itself. We essentially descend into a downward spiral Toward that core source of temptation which is greed or vanity or fear, or all three together.
This is good thought experiment on the moral philosophic level.
