Review of Thor: Ragnarok (2017) by Lorenzo L — 01 Jan 2018
This movie was wonderful. After two Thor movies that took themselves way too seriously, we now finally got one that isn't afraid to just have fun.
Jeff Goldblum is perhaps the funniest part of the film-no, scratch that, the whole Saakar part is pure gold. The main Asgard plot is a bit less developed and funny, but I loved the battles (the use of Immigrant Song as Thor's theme was the most awesome thing I've ever found in the MCU) and the way they still managed to inject some humor in them. Also liked how they translated Skurge's last stand at Jallerbru from the comics. Well, it was a bit underwhelming compared to the comics version when the man dies after slaughtering an entire army of the dead, but still awesome.
The family theme of the movie was heartwarming, too. I loved how Loki and Thor came together in the end. Hope Taika Waititi makes more Marvel movies from now on. Kudos!
4.6/5.
