Review of The Wrestler (2008) by Gabriel W — 15 Jul 2011
Moments before the fight that culminates this film, there is an emotional, gut-wrenching scene shared between Rourke and Tomei that lifts the movie from being what was already a very good movie to a truly great one.
Then the film concludes perfectly in an initially surprising but brilliantly daring ending that confirms the greatness of this movie. Aronofski's greatest film to date, and a remarkable performance by Mickey Rourke.
