Teen rebellion became a massive issue in the 50's and "Rebel Without A Cause" created a stir both socially and commercially. So obviously, the indie studios wanted to cash in on the teen rebel craze.
In came Ed Wood with a script of teen delinquent bad girls. It really doesn't make much sense, and there are serious inconsistencies, but that's what you should expect, right?
