Review of The Two of Us (1967) by Sarah G — 19 Jun 2007
What a wonderful and heart wariming film. Tells the story of a young jewish boy who must take refuge with an old couple. He grows very close to the old man despite the fact that he is prejudiced against jewish people.
The young boy must hide the fact that he is jewish. The film doesn't give us a phony scene where the old man realises how wrong his prejudices are, it focuses simply on the fact that the old man feels the young boy is his son without knowing of his background.
Michel Simon is wonderful as the old man, this is a must see film.
