Review of The Trials of Darryl Hunt (2007) by Andrew L — 26 Jan 2008
An amazing documentary which tells the 20 year story of Darryl Hunt, who was convicted of a crime he did not committ, sent to life in prison, and his fight to get justice. There isn't much to say about the story other then you just have to really watch it.
It's a sad commentary of how racist attitudes are still happening and how someone can be convicted of a crime so quickly without evidence and how near impossible it is to overcome the justice system.
The story of the documentary is moving, but it is also very well told with interviews, news footage, and photographs, making it not just an important story, but a great documentary film. It's kind of a tough one to find, but it is well worth seeking out.
