Review of The Survivors (1983) by Bill G — 22 Mar 2008
In my opinion, this was the funniest performance Robin Williams ever gave as an every man turned survival nut. Matthau's impeccable deadpan was a perfect counter balance to the manic but very well directed Williams.
The often unsung hero of this movie is Country singer and Burt Reynolds buddy Jerry Reed who plays the McGuffin in the form of a cold blooded assassin out to kill this mismatched duo. I'm really glad this generally overlooked movie is finally on DVD.
Favorite line of the film "The sooner you get down here the sooner there'll be one less wart on the ass of society.".
